✖️ Future of music & cheap eateries 🇻🇳 Apple Music's millennial problem 👶 Blockchain in Russia, Spotify, CMOs ⛓️
Hey everyone,
I’ve been having a great time here in Berlin. It’s basically been my first week in the city, and first week in the new job at IDAGIO.
Threw some of the week’s inspiration into this week’s lead piece about the future of music. The other piece follows up from the MySpace moment article from 2 weeks ago.
Enjoy - and have a nice week!
Love,
Bas

Streaming generates vast amounts of royalty data, and not all collecting societies are coping
First thought: “Heh, that reminds me of when a Russian rights organisation asked us to deliver all playback events from our streaming service to them on paper.”

Fun
The Moombahton legend Munchi has finally released a new track (he’s been on a hiatus for a few years). There’s a good chance you’ve never heard of him, but he’s influenced many of the greatest producers, from Diplo, to Dillon Francis, to Skrillex. An early pioneer of the moombahton genre (and many other sounds) who unfortunately decided to throw his hat into the ring way too early… Until now, that is!
